News Elaps Awards 2007

As you may all be aware there are the Elaps awards presented every year at
the AGM. The awards are The Percy Akehurst Award for Off Stage Achievements
and The Nicci Dinni Award for On Stage Achievements.

These awards are measured by the input of the 3 directors for 2006 which
will be: Jarrod on behalf of Juniors, Nicky Spencer on behalf of Rumours
and Sonya on behalf of Aladdin. As well as an overall aspect taking into
account by myself and any other feedback provided by members of the group.
So, now is the chance to have your say.

If you'd like to nominate someone for an award, please do so now stating the
exact reasons why you think they should be considered. You can reach me at:

Decisions will be made by 10th December 2007.

Many thanks for all your hard work and input throughout the year, without
you its members, Elaps and the fun theatre group we have created couldn't

Best of luck to you all,

Website Elaps Members Competition
There will be a grand prize (that no-one knows about) awarded at the AGM next January to the member who contributes the most to the website (myself excluded).
Ideally I would like people to post any bugs they find (which could be error messages appearing, or things not working as you might expect them too) in the bugs forum and/or suggestions in the suggestion forum.

The rules are quite simple:

1) To enter the competition all you have to do is vote yes in the poll attached to this topic, then start posting.
2) Suggestions/Observations/Other contributions must be made on the website.
Please don't tell me in person or send me emails either. The idea is that it's all about the website.
3) Don't point out what someone else has already pointed out.
This should be easily avoided if it's all done on the site though.

The competition starts now, 15th November and ends 3rd January before the AGM on the 4th.

Event This coming saturday, 4th November there are two things going on which you all might consider attending.

1) - An open day at the Nottingham Playhouse.
I myself will be catching the 9:15 bus to get there for 10 O'clock
The event will feature a tour of the facilities and some workshop activities

2) - The table top sale at East Leake Village Hall
Unfortunately as we all know, the Village Hall show was cancelled this year, so as an alternate way to do some fundraising, the village hall is having a bring and buy sale with proceeds going to the hall (which we all know needs funding). Several elaps regulars will be there.

Whatever you choose to do, have a nice day

News This month, ELAPS is offering four free tickets to the performance of your choice of our panto, Aladdin, which takes place at East Leake Village Hall on December 7th, 8th and 9th, with a matinee on the 9th as well.

What do you have to do to win the tickets? Well, this year's panto has an oriental theme.
With this in mind, colour in the drawing below, which shows Aladdin releasing the genie of the lamp, and send it to:
Sue Hutton
35 Romway Close
LE12 9DT
with the envelope marked ELAPs, by 15th November.

Entrants should be 12 or under in age. A panel of judges will select what they consider to be the best and most original colouring, and the winner will be notified by phone.

Results should be published in the December issue of East Leake Times depending on the East Leake Times deadline.

Don't forget to include your name, age, address (including postcode) and telephone number so that we can get back in touch with you!

We regret that members and families of members of ELAPs may not enter the competition. The judges' decision is final.
