All Mirrors, Villagers and Robbers need the following basic items for their personal costumes/make up:
Plain black leggings/trousers, plain black soft-soled shoes (plimsolls. Jazz shoes or similar). ELAPS will be providing a black polo-neck with a mirror motif. All these should be marked/labelled with the actor’s name (we know from experience that they can easily be “lost” or misplaced;
Skin toned foundation, neutral lipstick, grey/black eye liner and light blusher (we do not like the actors to share these items (other than between family members) to prevent infection). Please put these in a closable bag marked/labelled with the actor’s name; and
Coat hanger(s) and a bag (marked/labelled with the actor’s name) to carry all costume items (including those for the villagers and robbers that ELAPS is providing).
Please make sure that costume items are available from the 3rd November, make up items from the 20th November.
All members of ELAPs are required to provide at least one raffle item (such as Xmas biscuits/sweets, wine, scented candles, toys). This raises quite a lot of money at each performance so is an important revenue source for us. Please start bringing these in as soon as possible but by the end of November at the latest.
As we start to step up a gear towards performance dates, all actors (including the mirrors, villagers and robbers) will be required to remain at rehearsals until 9.30 pm every Thursday from 3rd November. Please remember that if you cannot attend a rehearsal either write your name down on the calendar at rehearsal or text me.
Tickets will go on sale to the public on 1st November but please note that the tickets for the Saturday matinee and evening performances sell out really quickly. All cast and crew can order tickets in advance from Annette at rehearsals:
Write down your name, preferred performance and number of tickets (indicating the number of full and concessions);
Include cash or a cheque for the full amount;
Place all this in an envelope with the crew/actor name.
Ticket prices are £7 full price and £4 concession (please note that there are no concession prices for the Saturday night performance). If you do not get an order in before 1st November then tickets will be available from the Post Office, Olde Bakehouse (pet shop) and Mel’s Greengrocers.

Dear Fellow Thespians
It’s that time of year again!!!!! I am writing to invite you to take part in next years’ One Act Play Festival which will be held once again at the lovely Little Theatre in Leicester..
Our dates are: week ending Saturday April 1st for the Preliminary Round.
Exactly when it starts will be subject to the number of entries. At a real push we could do 17, but 14 would be our ideal. This would allow 3 plays each of
3 evenings/Saturday afternoon, and 2 plays on Saturday night which would allow plenty of time for the final presentations.
WE ARE ALSO HOSTING THE QUARTER FINAL WHICH IS 8 DAYS LATER ON:
Sunday, April 9th again at the Little Theatre
This year we are using two new adjudicators who have never been part of the Leicestershire scene so should give us all a new perspective.
For the preliminary round we have Robert Clarke who lives in Bedford. He is delighted to be visiting a new area and seeing some fresh groups.
For the quarter final we have Jennifer Scott-Reid who lives in Cambridge. She is a very experienced adjudicator and again is delighted to be visiting a new area and seeing some fresh groups.
The Festival will be an open festival again this year, which means groups outside the Leicestershire / Rutland area are welcome to attend.
To enter you will need to complete the Entry Form and return it to me, together with a cheque, no later than Friday, 6th January 2015
